Parivrtta Janu Sirsasana (Revolved Head-of-the-Knee Pose

The expansion of the side of the rib cage and the compression in the other side of the trunk increase core mobility and soften the connective tissue around both the organs supporting the immune system and those of elimination.

How to do Revolved Head-of-the-Knee Pose?

  • Begin in the seated wide legged straddle (Upavistha Konasana).
  • Bend your left knee and bring the sole of your left foot to your inner right thigh.
  • Making your spine straight turn to the bent knee (Left) and twist your whole spine opening the chest.
  • Now raise your left hand and slightly bringing your right elbow to the ground hold foot from inside with your right hand.
  • Now, try to grab your foot with both hands and twist more by squishing your stomach more.
  • Keep your left foot flexed.
  • Hold with normal breathing now.
